We are back. The two umpires lead the way before B Anirudh Sita Ram and his men take the field. Ganeshan Periyaswamy has been subbed in by Siechem Madurai Panthers, with Siddharth Mahadevan making way. It will be Shivam Singh and Vineeth VK to open for Dindigul Dragons. D. Deepesh will start with the new ball. Shivam is on strike. Let's go...

    ... THE RUN CHASE ...

  • 0.0

Dragons have the edge - Dindigul came under pressure early on, as the ball slid nicely onto the bat with the wet outfield and moisture in the surface. But they managed to wrest back control and kept the run-scoring in check with variations on what is a sticky wicket. The Dragons will be confident of chasing down the target, while Madurai will be searching for early wickets to put them on the back foot. Don't go anywhere, as the chase is coming up shortly.

A job well done by the Dragons - Considering the kind of start Siechem Madurai Panthers got off to, keeping them under 180 is a commendable effort. Madurai scored 60 in the first 6 overs but managed only another 100 in the next 12 overs, with the bowling side doing well to pull things back through the middle and death overs. All of the top three got starts but could not convert them into big scores. Although Atheeq Rahman and NS Chaturved put together a partnership through the middle, the injection of momentum Madurai needed never really came.

OUT! RUN OUT! A run out to end the innings. Siechem Madurai Panthers finish on 171/7. Another pin-point yorker at the base of the leg stump. Rajalingam S jams it out towards wide long on. With it being the last ball, the batters commit to the second run. Vineeth VK gets to the ball quickly and fires in a throw at the batting end. Baba Indrajith gathers the ball on the bounce and breaks the stumps, catching Rajalingam S short of his ground.

OUT! P SARAVANAN IS RUN OUT! Low full toss, on off. Saravanan hits it wide of long off. Vineeth VK is quick to charge across to his right and gets rid of the ball in a flash. Gurjapneet is happy with a single, but Saravanan tries to sneak in the second run and runs all the way towards the batting end. Both batters are at the same end as Baba Indrajith collects the throw. Baba runs to the other end and takes the bails off, with Saravanan being adjudged out. Rajalingam S is the new batter.

Half a shout for caught behind but turned down. No real conviction in the appeal, but Baba Indrajith wants to have a look. Warrier spears in a yorker from around the wicket, landing around the leg stump. P Saravanan makes room and tries to dig it out. It goes behind, and Baba Indrajith takes the catch to his right. Flat line on UltraEdge when the ball is next to the bat, so the on-field call is upheld.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Rohan Bhutra takes home the award for his impressive showing with the ball, returning figures of 2/23 from his 4 overs. Rohan feels God has been kind to him to be able to contribute in this way. He has worked on his bowling according to the role he has been given and trusts his variations, focusing on what he has practised rather than worrying about the outcome. He says the numerous drills he has done over the last three years have helped him immensely.

Earlier in the game - With rain around and the contest reduced to 18 overs a side, it was a no-brainer for Baba Indrajith to opt to bowl first. The Panthers got off to a brisk start, but the Dragons fought back well through the middle overs to pull things back. Madurai still managed to scrap their way to 171, though, giving themselves a competitive total to defend.

Madurai squeezed the chase - It was a similar story in both innings, with both teams making strong starts but failing to maintain the momentum through the middle phase. Dindigul made a bright start in the Powerplay, with Vineeth VK impressing on debut, while Shivam Singh also got going nicely. But they hit a rut in the middle overs and struggled to keep the scoring rate up. Credit to Siechem Madurai Panthers, who used the conditions well on a sticky wicket and made sure there was no way back in the chase for the Dragons.

Panthers roar loud - Four wins in as many games for Madurai, and they continue on their merry way. At the halfway mark, it looked like they might be a few runs short, but their bowlers put in a tremendous effort to defend the total and secure another impressive win. It is now a third defeat in four games for last year's runners-up, Dindigul Dragons, and they have it all to do in the second half of the campaign to turn things around.

  • 17.6

FOUR! That is in the gap. P Bhuvaneswaran punches this from the crease and exploits the area near point. Siechem Madurai Panthers win by 21 runs and continue their winning run.

  • 17.5

Rajalingam S goes searching for the yorker but it comes out as a high full toss, on middle. Mohit's weight is on the back foot as he thumps it down to long on. He takes the review to check for the height. The Ball Tracking confirms that the ball was well below his waist and it is a fair delivery.

  • 17.4

Full and straight, on middle. P Bhuvaneswaran swings at it but miscues it off the inner half through square leg for one.

  • 17.3

Nearly another. On middle. P Bhuvaneswaran swings with all his might and it is spooned towards long on, where P Saravanan charges across to his left and puts in a full-length dive. He can't quite cling on as the ball clips his fingertips and drops to the ground. Two taken.

OUT! CAUGHT! High but not long enough. Cross-seam ball, full and trying to keep it away from the batter's arc. Jayant sinks to a knee and stays deep in the crease. • 16.4

Given LBW but successfully overturned. Singh spots Mohit move to the off side and he tries to target the leg pole. Ends up serving a low full toss, on leg. Mohit gets low to swipe it away but misses and gets hit on the front pad. A loud shout and the finger is raised. Mittan reviews and the UltraEdge comes up with a spike, confirming the inside edge.

  • 15.1

FOUR! Launched down the ground. Outside off, on a back of a length. Mohit gives the bowler the charge and plays the lofted hit on the rise. Hits it back over the bowler's head for a four.

  • 14.7

Nails the wide yorker, the batter looks to play that but is comprehensively beaten. 50 needed off 18.

  • 14.6
