OUT! Bowled. Ravichandran Ashwin to Sam Curran. Arm length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, missed to. Curran goes for the big shot but misses it completely. What an innings it has been again from Curran who has once again, pulled England out of trouble.

India have bowled very well today and without that fantastic knock by the 20 year old Surrey lad, they could be trailing by a lot less. They'll have around 15 minutes to survive tonight but so far, it has been their day.

OUT! Run Out. Ravichandran Ashwin to Sam Curran. Off break length ball, off stump on the back foot pulling, hit pad to third man for 1 run, fielded by Sharma, by Pant. Hesitation and Curran could be in trouble here. The decision is sent to the third umpire but India are so confident that they are walking off the field. Curran didn't quite realise at first that there was the possibility of stealing a couple of extras, and by the time he set off sprinting it was too late. Ishant fired in an accurate throw and Pant did the rest.

India have done the first part of the job this morning, removing the last two England wickets cheaply. That means they will require 245 runs to win the match and square the series. This is going to be a fascinating climax to this Test, the stage is set for someone to make themselves a hero.

OUT! Caught. Mohammed Shami to Stuart Broad. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Pant. What a start to the day, perfect for India. The field is set for short pitched bowling so Shami fires in a full teaser outside the off stump that Broad can't resist a little flirt at. The thin edge is safely pouched by Pant and the tourists celebrate. Broad has to trudge off disappointed, but his main role today will be with the ball in hand.

  • 91.5

OUT! Caught. Mohammed Shami to Adil Rashid. Seaming away back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Pant. Excellent delivery to remove Rashid, swing and then movement away off the seam in the final over of the day.

The final ball of Day 3 has summed up this match, both teams are still in the contest throwing punches at each other. Even the most optimistic English fan probably didn't expect them to be batting at the end of the day. The resilliance has been encouraging against a fine bowling attack.

The seamers did most of the damage for India. The only surprise is that R Ashwin only managed one wicket in his 35 overs. What a thrilling run chase we will have on our hands once India manage to remove the dangerous Sam Curran (37 not out) and the tail. Join us then.

Welcome to coverage of Day Four of the Fourth Test between England and India at the Ageas Bowl, where the contest is tantalisingly poised after three days of see-sawing action in Southampton. It's a gorgeous day on the south coast, the perfect setting for a thrilling finale to this match as the tourists fight to stay alive in the series. Gutsy batting from Jos Buttler held a fragile England together yesterday, as they squeezed their way to a handy looking lead. With the pitch really starting to deteriorate, Virat Kohli will be desperate to pick up the last two wickets early and get cracking in the runchase. It won't be easy, but if the visitors can learn the lessons of Edgbaston they might be able to pull it off and square the series. Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid will be licking their lips at a dry surface, however, and will be confident of securing the win for England today.

    रविचंद्रन अश्विन lbw b Sam Curran 25 (36)

OUT! L.B.W. Sam Curran to Ravichandran Ashwin. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot working, hit pad to. There it is, Ashwin is trapped in front as the ball skids through low and the umpire raises the dreaded digit. Sam Curran finishes the job, a fitting moment for the young man after he saved England with the bat in the first innings. What a Test match this has been, a great advert for the sport. England end as victors by 60 runs and take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series.

Southampton has been host to a fantastic match this week, with ebbs and flows one way and then the other. At the start of the day things were in the balance, but then the hosts surged ahead with a brilliant new ball spell. Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane led the fight back with a patient, determined partnership of 101 as the tourists started to believe. England will have been getting nervous as India inched closer to the target, but Moeen Ali provided the key moment by getting Kohli snaffled at short leg. It was deserved success for the spinner due to his ability to hit the rough and challenge the batsmen consistently. He went on to finish with nine wickets in the match, a vital contribution as England seal the series with one match to play.

SIX! Moeen Ali to Ravichandran Ashwin. Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track driving, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.
