Manchester Super Giants are now all but through to the Eliminator, with this win lifting their net run rate to +0.791 and putting them in second place, ahead of Sunrisers Leeds' +0.603 in third. According to Ian Ward on air, MI London, who currently sit fourth with 16 points and a net run rate of +0.262, would need to win by around 59 runs in their final game to move ahead of Leeds on net run rate. Welsh Fire also have 16 points but are only mathematically alive, with their poor net run rate of -1.001 making their task considerably tougher.

Reflecting on the win - The captain of Manchester Super Giants, Jos Buttler says that once they restricted Sunrisers Leeds to 127, they knew they had the power to breeze past this total if it clicks. Buttler reckons that with Marsh and Ryan Rickelton at the top, and Brook in the middle, Sunrisers make for a scary side, and even today they got a great start, but his bowlers did well to keep them to a manageable total.
