Vipers have to hit early - Alright then, the target is low, but yet again the pitch definitely has something for the bowlers. So if the Vipers can try to pick up a couple of early wickets in the Powerplay, they might turn the tide. It is really going to be an interesting second innings, so don't go anywhere, folks, as it will start in no time.

Quick chat - Anirudh Immanuel says that they just wanted to attack the stumps and feels that length was also key. Adds that he has worked a lot with the coaching staff on where to bowl, and that has helped him a lot. Adds that with the new ball, he tries to bowl a bit quicker. Ends by saying that they just need to keep wickets in hand and they should be able to gun down the target.

Something is better than nothing - About the batting unit of Vipers, all we can say is that it was a tough time for them. Could they have done better? Yes, but also the pitch had some grip for the slower bowlers and was also skidding for the quciker bowlers. Most of the top order had a good start and were having zero problem settling on the pitch, but just when they were trying to hit the ball to push the score, they were losing away wickets. That's the story for the entire innings. However, it was Vriitya Aravind who showed some resilience late in the innings, scoring 29 off 20 deliveries put 122 runs on the board. Now is it enough? That's completely a different question, but at least the bowling side has something to fight for.

Unicorns get the upper hand - The bowling unit of the Unicorns was outstanding in the majority of the game. Their lines and lengths were tight, and for that reason they kept their opposition at bay. Yes, they leaked a few boundaries in the death overs, but apart from that they were neat. Also, a huge credit to the fielding department. They were flawless with their work on the field and never gave a second chance to the Vipers' batters. Fabian Allen was the pick of the bowlers, bagging up 3 wickets and giving away 20 runs off his four overs.

A single to end but 13 runs come off the final over and Desert Vipers finish with 122/7 on the board. Hard length, angling it into the batter. Vriitya Aravind nudges it off the hips and down to fine leg for one. He looks for two, but they settle for the single.

FOUR! Good shot. Siddle looks for the yorker but serves it in the slot and around off. Vriitya Aravind hangs deep and manages to get under it, hammering it over wide mid off for a boundary.

Oh, that's clever from Siddle, and that properly gripped in the surface. Bowled at just 95 kph, in the surface and over off. This is the leg cutter that turns away from the right-hander and Aravind is left completely bamboozled.

OUT! KHARRY PIERRE IS RUN OUT! That is sensational fielding from Sanjay Krishnamurthi in the deep and Khary Pierre is shaking his head. Fabian Allen shortens the length, pushing it through around off. Vriitya Aravind hangs back and punches it away through extra cover. The batters pick up a single and then push for two but Sanjay runs around to his right and fires in a direct throw at the bowler's end. Pierre was just a bit sluggish and replays show that his bat was on the line and not over when the bails lit up.

Only two teams remain in the competition, and it will be San Francisco Unicorns going up against hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Providence Stadium in Guyana for the elusive trophy. The victorious captain of San Francisco Unicorns - Hassan Khan says that he is a very happy and pleased skipper right now. He also adds that he hopes everything works well tomorrow in the finals, like it did today. About the overall innings, he says that everyone chipped in the way they could. The bowlers bowled in the right lengths, and the batters did their job. However, the captain feels that they went a bit lazy in the death overs in the first innings, where they leaked boundaries, but apart from that, everything was flawless for them. Ends up saying that he is looking forward to playing the finals as they are just a step away from the glory

Shadab Khan of Desert Vipers - Shadab says that they didn't bat well and that'sthe major difference, and feels that batting was easier later on in the second innings as well. Goes on to say that this pitch is generally high-scoring, but after assessing conditions, it felt like a 150-run pitch, and they were a few runs short. Reckons that overall everyone chipped in well throughout the tournament and says that the GSL experience was a nice one, going on to laud a few of the young stars in his team.

No venom from the Vipers - Shadab Khan didn't really mind batting first at the toss, but the pitch wasn't easy to start on. All of their batters got off to starts, but couldn't capitalize and it was a late flourish from Vriitya Aravind that got them barely over the 120-run mark. Also, their innings lacked any substantial partnerships, with the highest being 23 between Kyle Mayers and Shadab Khan. The Vipers were under pressure with the ball but Khary Pierre did give them an opening by picking up two wickets in the same over. However, that was the best it got for them and they failed to conjure up any further wicket-taking opportunity post the Powerplay.

Player of the Match - Tim Robinson has been handed the award for his match-winning knock of 68 not out off 54 balls. Tim starts off by saying that they are only peaking at the right time and he is very happy with it. About his innings, he states that the pitch was hard to bat on, but he and Oliver Peake were just trying to punish the bad deliveries. He adds that he was a bit lucky as well, but he is happy that everything worked out for them. About that big partnership, he says that Peake is a sensational batter, further adding that he is a very good guy and very easy to bat with. He also praises Peake by saying that he is a complete package when it comes to a cricket player. About the final facing hosts Guyana, Robinson reckons that their opposition is a tough one, but his team has all the assets to take on the Amazon Warriors.

Spin to win for SFU - The Unicorns played just one frontline pacer in the form of Peter Siddle yet again and had a plethora of spin-bowling options. Before the game, everyone thought it would be a 200-run pitch but the Unicorns got it right and their spinners managed to get the ball to skid through with the new ball and then they also managed to get it to turn consistently. Fabian Allen was the pick with a three-fer, but overall, it was a solid showing. With the bat, it was a slow start and they were 29/2 after 5 overs. However, Tim Robinson kept a calm head and played a fine knock and Oliver Peake gave him excellent support, as the duo stitched together an unbeaten 97-run stand. Robinson's knock of 68 not out of 54 was the highlight.

Unicorns sail into the Final - A dominant showing from start to finish, and it is San Francisco Unicorns who trump Desert Vipers to set a date with Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Final of GSL 2026. A win that was really set up by the bowlers of the Unicorns, but Tim Robinson and Oliver Peake have ensured that there were no hiccups with the bat as well. As for the Vipers, they round off a rather decent tournament in a meek fashion.

All smiles and cheers around the dugout as San Francisco Unicorns beat Desert Vipers by 8 wickets. Short of a length from Zachary Carter, offering a lot of width on it. Tim Robinson rocks back and cuts it late to beat the left of the backward point fielder for the boundary.
