The Cha Factor - Chamari Athapaththu and Chamudi Praboda were the pick of the bowlers for the island nation, with both accounting for 2 wickets each and being miserly as well. 115 is the highest successful chase of this Asia Cup, achieved by Sri Lanka against Bangladesh. They will have to better that tonight to make it to their third successive final. Fatima Sana looked spent with the humidity but still has a role to play with the ball, and we all know how vital she is to Pakistan's chances. It is all set up to be a tantalising second essay, so stick around.
Cometh the hour, cometh Fatima Sana - In the group-stage clash, Pakistan found the Indian spinners tough to get away, and another test awaited them tonight. Shawaal Zulfiqar showed promise but could not last long enough, and at 52/4, they found themselves in a pickle. In walked the skipper, Fatima Sana, who provided both the steady presence and the injection of impetus the innings needed. Useful stands with Gull Feroza first and then Tuba Hassan helped Pakistan reach 130.
Shawaal reflects on her knock - Shawaal Zulfiqar is happy with her contribution but disappointed not to carry on after the start. She credits the partnership between Gull Feroza and Fatima Sana for helping Pakistan build their innings, while praising the captain's ability to finish strongly. She feels 130 is a very good total on this surface and says her role is to bat with intent, something she remains committed to. Now, she hopes Pakistan can defend the total.
A tale of two halves - 52/4 in the first 10 overs | 78/1 in the final 10 overs. A productive second half has lifted Pakistan to a competitive total. Sri Lanka will be disappointed to have let their grip on the game slip after being in a strong position at the halfway stage, but they will still back themselves to gun down this total. Fatima Sana looks spent, and understandably so, given how humid it is tonight in Dubai. The square-leg umpire checks with her if she requires any medical attention, but she gives her a nod to signal that she is fine and carries on.

Fatima Sana is down on her haunches and seems to be in some discomfort. It appears to be a hamstring issue with her right leg. She also pulled up during the game against India but stayed on to bowl. Sana is back on her feet and seems fine to continue.
Full and on middle, Tuba tries to flick but gets a leading edge. It loops behind the bowler and they get one. 14 from the over!
DROPPED! A huge let-off for Tuba Hassan! She gets plenty of the bat on a full delivery around middle and sends it straight down the ground, but there is not enough power behind it. The ball sails gently towards long on, where the fielder, Imesha Dulani, gets into position but cannot stay balanced underneath it. The chance goes begging. Two runs taken.
FIVE WIDES! Mithali Ayodhya loses the radar, sending a full toss down the leg side. Tuba Hassan cannot get a touch on it, and Kaushini Nuthyangana has no chance of stopping the delivery as it races away to the fine-leg fence. Five added to the Pakistan total.
Slows it down and serves it full on middle. Fatima Sana looks to work it into the leg side, but the ball takes the inside edge and rolls away towards deep mid-wicket. They pick up a single.
Sharp pace, full and drifting down the leg side again, Fatima is early into her attempted flick and misses. It goes off her pads to point.
Tuba Hassan has taken a blow to the right thigh and needs medical attention. The magic spray has done its job, and she is ready to resume.

Flatter and fuller, on off, hit in the air behind the bowler, and it drops in no-man's land between long on and long off. They take a couple.
FOUR! That's muscled away! Fatima Sana gets a gift in her hitting arc and wastes no time putting it away. She plants her front foot and launches the full delivery over mid-wicket, beating the field comfortably for four.

Aerial but safe. Slower through the air, full and outside off, Tuba Hassan goes for the slog-sweep but gets a top edge. It loops towards deep mid-wicket and drops safely in front of the fielder. They settle for one.
Fires it in, full and around leg, Sana brings her bottom hand into play and whips it to deep mid-wicket for a single.
Loopy and full, dropping on middle, Tuba lofts it over mid off, for a run.

A loud shout for LBW, but turned down! There seemed to be a deflection onto the pads. Tossed up, on a good length, on off and middle. Harshitha hangs low and reaches out in front for the reverse, but is early into the shot and gets hit on the forearm before the ball deflects onto the pads. Well, well, that was pretty adjacent, and Samarawickrama has gotten away with one here.

This is dropped short, extremely slow, near the tramline on off. Samarawickrama shuffles across and is in two minds about whether to bash it away or play the late dab. Ends up doing the latter as she works it to the right of the short third fielder for a single. Harshitha is unhappy with herself as she realises that she was better off powering it away.
A dot to end the 15th over. Shorter and outside off. The width is there for Dilhari to cash in, but she thumps it straight to cover. Kavisha continues to find the fielders on the off side. Sri Lanka require 36 runs off 30 balls.
Good hustle between the wickets. Slower through the air, a hint of turn, on a length, on off. Samarawickrama leans across and taps it wide of cover before hurrying to the other end.
Around off, Dilhari sweeps this away to deep square leg for a single.
FOUR! With the turn, played in the gap. Flighted up, on middle. Dilhari takes a step or two down the track and then collapses her back knee to club it right in the gap between deep mid-wicket and long on for a boundary. 38 runs needed off 33 balls.

A slight stoppage in play here, and it looks like an unofficial drinks break. You certainly cannot complain, though, with the humidity making conditions quite uncomfortable out there. Even one of the umpires takes the opportunity to quickly reach for a sip of water.
Smart batting! From around the wicket, slightly shorter and near the tramline on off. Samarawickrama knows that there is no one at deep fine leg. She walks across her stumps and gets inside the line. She also gets low to get under the ball and scoops it down to long leg. By the time the deep square leg fielder can get around, the batters come back for the third run. The 50-run stand comes up between these two batters, and this was just what the doctor ordered for the island nation.
Missed out! Ayesha starts with a rank long hop, outside off. It is there to be put away but Dilhari spanks it straight to the cover fielder. A slight fumble is enough for the batters to sneak in a quick single.
