  • West Indies are looking to register their first men's Test series victory over Sri Lanka since 2003; the Lions are currently enjoying a five-series unbeaten streak against them across their subsequent encounters (W2 D3) - whoever wins this game takes the series.
  • Sri Lanka have only suffered one defeat in their last nine men's Test matches versus West Indies (W3 D5); two of the last three encounters have been drawn, however (W1).
  • West Indies are currently unbeaten in three successive men's Test games (W2 D1); they had suffered four defeats on the trot beforehand.
  • West Indies have failed to win either of their last two men's Test games at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (D1 L1); they have never gone three outings without a win at the Antigua venue.
  • Sri Lanka have failed to win any of their last six men's Test matches (D2 L4); those four defeats have all come after winning the toss.
  • Sri Lanka had a catch success rate of 100% in the series opener (7/7) whilst West Indies dropped four catches; three of them were easy opportunities.
  • Lasith Embuldeniya is two scalps away from reaching 50 in Test cricket; he has picked up more Test wickets than any other left-arm spinner since making his debut in February 2019 (48).
  • Nkrumah Bonner claimed his maiden Test century last time out (113*); the 32-year-old has logged three of his four first-class hundreds since the start of last year.
  • Pathum Nissanka became only the fourth man to score a century on Test debut for Sri Lanka in the 1st Test of this series; he joined Brendon Kuruppu, Romesh Kaluwitharana & Thilan Samaraweera in that list.
  • Kemar Roach managed to bowl six no ball deliveries in Sri Lanka's 2nd inning, more than his teammates combined; he did pick up six wickets during that game, however.
